Fire mishap: GMSH exonerates employee

Putting the blame of fire that broke out in the trauma unit of the GMSH,Sector 16,a few days ago,on the UT Engineering department,a committee of doctors formed to look into the incident has not blamed any of their own staff member. This is in contrast to the earlier report submitted by UT Chief Engineer Surinder Pal,which stated that the fire was triggered after a nurse at the hospital switched on an air conditioner,which was still not approved by the Engineering department.

As per the internal inquiry report of hospital doctors,the Engineering department had installed the ACs a long time ago and the nurse was not at fault for switching it on.

The incident had taken place a few days ago and no casualty was reported. While the doctors of GMSH have now submitted their report to the Director,Health Services,the UT Engineering department had already submitted their report with the Home-cum-Health Secretary earlier.
