Actor Ranveer Singh will be romancing Sonakshi Sinha in Vikramaditya Motwane's period drama Lootera.
Set in West Bengal, Lootera is Vikramaditya Motwane's second directorial venture after much acclaimed Udaan. The film will take the viewers back in the world of 1950s.
Ranveer Singh, who made his debut as a loud wedding planner in Band Baaja Baaraat, plays an intense love in Lootera.
Ranveer said while portraying his role in the upcoming movie, he was initially frustrated as he felt he could not do justice to the character in this period romance drama film.
Film's lead actress Sonakshi Sinha said she has taken yesteryear actresses Madhubala and Waheeda Rehman as her reference points for the role.
According to Sonakshi, this has been her "most difficult role" till now. The actress has only done masala movies like Rowdy Rathore , Dabangg till now.
Lootera is said to have been inspired by American author O Henry's famous story The Last Leaf.
Lootera, which has been jointly produced by Phantom Films and Balaji Motion Pictures, is slated to release on July 5. (With Agency inputs)
