Five persons were held,two of them for allegedly acting as dummy students for a senator of Saurashtra University and a local Youth Congress leader,during a law exam in Rajkot late on Tuesday night. Acting on a complaint filed by Liyakat Saidyad,director of Harivandana College in Munjka,Gandhigram police arrested Vikas Patodia,Sohil Meria,Vishnu Bharad,Sagar Babaria and Harshad Gondaliya late on Tuesday night.
According to the complaint,while Patodia was giving examination of semester-I of LLB posing to be Vivek Hirani,a member of senate of Saurashtra University and son of Chandrakant Hirani,who is syndicate member of the same university. On the other hand,Meria was posing to be Aadityasinh Gohil,president of Gujarat unit of National Students Union of India (NSUI),the students wing of Congress.
Police said Gondaliya and Babaria were working in the administration department of the college. They made arrangements of dummies of Hirani and Gohil. Bharad,who was supervising the examination,allowed Gondaliya to see Hiranis answer-sheet,police said.
The dummies were appearing in the exam for the last two days. But they were caught on Tuesday and the matter was reported to police, Gandhigram police inspector Jaydeep Sarvaiya said on Wednesday.
