Five conmen held for posing as CBI officials

  • The Delhi Police have arrested five persons for committing a series of robberies allegedly posing as CBI officials. The police said the accused looked for victims in the Central Delhi area and robbed them on the pretext of conducting searches.

    Officials said the accused introduced themselves as CBI officials, pretended to search victims as part of security measures and made off with money from the victim’s luggage or bag without his/her knowledge.

    The accused have been identified as Azam Ali (47), Anwar Hussain (43), Ayub Ali (37), Javed Ali (30) and Sabir Ali (50) and are residents of Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) and Maharashtra. All accused are reportedly of Iranian origin.
