Five killed in explosion in Chinese workshop

At least five people were killed when an explosion ripped through a workshop of a motorcycle parts maker in east China.

At least five people were killed when an explosion ripped through a workshop of a motorcycle parts maker in east China’s Zhejiang Province.

The blast took place last night at the Zhejiang Hongwei Vehicle Company in Dongdu Township of Jinyun County,local government said in a statement.

Three workers were killed at the scene and two others died later in hospital,it said.

One person was also injured in the explosion,who was undergoing emergency medical treatment.

All the workers were from the neighboring province of Anhui.

Initial investigation showed explosion might have taken place when metal dust came in contact with fire.
