Five more swine flu deaths reported from Gujarat

Five swine flu deaths have been reported in the last two days in the state,taking the total death toll to 285,health officials said here on Sunday. Nine fresh cases of H1N1 have been reported from across Gujarat,they added.

One Dipika Solanki (25) died of the virus at the Surat Civil Hospital today. Rita Chavda (30) succumbed to the flu in Rajkot and Chiman Vankar (30) died in the city,officials said. Two other deaths that occurred last month were reported today,they added. The total swine flu-related deaths reported from Gujarat include nine cases from Rajasthan and one from Madhya Pradesh. These patients were brought here for treatment.

Fresh swine flu cases were also reported from Ahmedabad,Vadodara,Jamnagar,Amreli,and Junagadh districts. So far,1,444 people have tested positive for the H1N1 virus.
