Five students on hunger strike to protest Telangana statehood

The Centre’s decision evoked massive opposition in this port city with students and common people coming out on the streets in large numbers in protest.

The agitators blocked vehicular traffic at 24 places,staged sit-in at eight places and ‘rail roko’ at two places,city Police Commissioner N Sambasiva Rao said.

The protesters also pelted stones at a few trucks and a BPO centre,he said.
