BarRackpore:A pool car driver was arrested on Sunday from North 24-Parganas district for allegedly molesting a five-year-old girl, police said. The driver was arrested from Ghola police station area after the parents complained that they had noticed him touching their daughter on many occasions. The girl studies at a school in Sodepur and was driven from home to school daily in a pool car.
Writer Syed Mustafa Siraj critical
Kolkata:Prominent Bengali litterateur Syed Mustafa Siraj is in a critical condition and has been admitted to a private hospital in the city. The 82-year old novelist was admitted to the hospital on August 29 with intestine infection, family sources said. Siraj, who has penned over 200 novels, was honoured with Sahitya Akademi in 1994 for his novel Aleek Manush.
