To get clarity on the cause of mysterious death of Fiza Mohammad, the Mohali Police has written to the Board of doctors who had examined the viscera report of Anuradha Bali alias Fiza Mohammad, estranged wife of former Haryana Deputy CM Chander Mohan.
Three questions have been sent to the Board of doctors, three of them, by the Mohali Police today. First, whether aluminium phosphide can be concealed into an edible item or mixed with any liquid and given to a person. Second, whether there is any evidence to corroborate that the poison was administered forcefully to Fiza. Lastly, the probability of Fiza's death being a case of suicide or homicide.
These questions have been sent by the Mohali Police after it received the chemical examination report from the Board of doctors of Kharar laboratory today. The doctors in their opinion have submitted that "the cause of death is poisoning due to Aluminum Phosphide insecticide in presence of ethyl alcohol."
Earlier, the doctors had said that aluminium phosphide cannot be mixed with any liquid or edible item and that it is mostly used in cases where people commit suicide. One of the doctors had also ruled out the possibility of aluminium phosphide being administered forcibly.
Though the chemical examination point towards a suicide, circumstantial evidence, Fiza's friends refuse to believe that she committed suicide. The Mohali Police, on the other hand, is ruling out foul play. "One thing which has till now come to fore is that there is no evidence to prove that there was foul play. The post mortem report shows no external injury marks on the body" said a senior Police officer.
Speaking to Newsline, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Mohali Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said "Medical evidence is no doubt a crucial piece of evidence but is not the only evidence on the basis of which investigation can be concluded. We are yet to reach a definite conclusion to ascertain the cause of her death. The SIT is conducting its investigation and will shortly submit its final investigation report".
