Former Haryana deputy chief minister Chander Mohan aka Chand Mohammeds second wife Fiza was discharged from hospital on Friday. Fiza had allegedly attempted suicide on Thursday morning by consuming sedatives. She was arrested by the Mohali police on Friday evening on charges of attempt to suicide and later released on bail.

Fiza,however,told the media after her discharge from hospital that she never attempted suicide. I was tense,as my husband is not traceable. I had a severe pain in my back,so I took some pills. I don’t know how I consumed so many of them. I never attempted suicide, she told mediapersons.

I am not that stupid that I will try to kill myself, she said.

Mohali Senior Superintendent of Police Jatinder Singh Aulakh,however,said they were still considering it a case of attempted suicide and further action would be initiated against Fiza on the basis of medical reports. Superintendent of Police (City) Varinder Paul Singh said a medical report was awaited to see which medicine she had consumed and in what dose.

Talking to the media,Fiza also sought to clarify that her relations with Chand are cordial. The relationships between me and my husband are not strained,as projected by the media, she said.
