Flu pandemic claims four more lives,toll climbs to 105

With four more deaths,including two in Andhra Pradesh,due to swine flu in three states,the countrywide toll in the pandemic to reached 105.

With four more deaths,including two in Andhra Pradesh,due to swine flu in three states,the countrywide toll in the pandemic to reached 105. Two persons,including a woman,died of swine flu in Andhra Pradesh,first fatalities due to the influenza in the state.

A 25-year-old government employee,who was admitted to Government Chest hospital in Andhra Pradesh on August 31 and had tested positive for the H1N1 virus,died last night,state health authorities said adding a woman,35,succumbed to the virus at a corporate hospital. Shahida Misgar,36,on Wednesday succumbed to H1N1 virus at a private hospital in Karnataka,health authorities said.

In Pune,the worst affected city,53-year-old man Rajendra Dake died at the government-run Sassoon hospital today,taking the toll in the viral infection to 33,hospital authorities said. With the four deaths,fatalities due to the disease has climbed to 105. So far,56 people have died in Maharashtra,28 in Karnataka,eight in Gujarat,three each in Tamil Nadu and Delhi,two each in Kerala and Andhra Pradesh and one each in Goa,Chhattisgarh and Uttarakhand.
