Pracheen Kala Kendra ‘s 143rd Baithak Programme will feature Partha Sen (sitar recital) and Navtej Singh (ghazals). Partha Sen is the son and disciple of late PK Sen. Partha has received training in classical music from his father and further honed his skill in sitar playing under Prof Saroj Ghosh of Panjab University and Prof Harvinder Sharma. With a Master’s degree in music from PU, Sen is a recipient of National Scholarship from the Government of India. As for Navtej, he started learning classical music at the tender age of six years under the guidance of Vinod Verma of Jalandhar and is now learning from Sushil Kumar Jain. Navtej beautifully combines the flavour of light classical in ghazals and songs and has developed a style of his own in which the traditions of light classical music is observed with an incessant flow of melody, ornamentation, variation and improvisation.
