The University of Pune's (UoP) engineering re-evaluation result woes are not yet over for hundreds of students who had applied for photocopying of their answer sheets. "Nearly 2,000 students had applied for photocopy along with re-evaluation," said Sampada Joshi, Controller of Examination.

David (name changed) graduated from an engineering college in the city last year but he failed in one subject. He had appeared for the backlog exam in May, the result of which was declared in September in which he didn't clear the paper. He then applied for revaluation and photocopying "I was placed in an IT company, which needed my BE certificate. They gave me a year's time to present it to them," said David. "I was supposed to give my BE marksheet by October. But as I had applied for photocopy along with revaluation, my result wasn't declared. I had to resign as the company couldn't employ me without knowing whether I was a graduate or not," David added. His result is pending.

"The worst part is the kind of checking the university has done. I have not even attempted a question but in the marking scheme, they have given four marks against that question. Many questions are unchecked too," he claimed after going through the photocopy of his paper.

He is not alone. There are many students who are facing various problems due to delay in the re-evaluation process. Many had to give back-to-back papers due to this delay. "I had a backlog in my second year. Although I had given the backlog exam in May and asked for a photocopy, my results are pending. I gave the same paper again this month as I had no idea whether I had cleared it or not. This added to the stress levels and I couldn't even concentrate well on my regular papers," said a third year UoP engineering student.
