It’s always fun to catch up with old school mates. At the Old Cottonian’s Association meet it was no different. “It’s a time to go down memory lane,to relive naughty moments and to catch up on gossip,” says Ajay Thiara, executive member,OCA (India) Northern Chapter,as he,along with over 100 members of the association got together at the Chandigarh Golf Club to celebrate the alumni’s 100 years over a period of three days, beginning October 22. The meet started off with a tournament against Old Sanawarians.

“During our school days,Sanawar students were our arch rivals in hockey, cricket and football and it’s only befitting that the rivalry continues on the golf course,” he smiled,as he headed for the centennial celebration dinner at the CGA Golf Range. A centennial drive to Bishop Cotton School,Shimla, followed, with an overnight halt at Barog. “A camp fire and barbeque dinner was the highlight of the evening,” chipped in GS Gill.

With members from batches 1947 to 2007 present,Sunday saw the association members drive up to the school in Shimla for a blood donation camp. The head master hosted a lunch for the association members. “As is normal at such occasions there were matches between the old boys and the schools teams.

The celebrations came to an end over dinner at Hotel Woodville,a heritage property belonging to an old Cottonian.
