Deputy Superintendent of Police (South) B S Negi said, "There are certain portions in the suicide note which need to be investigated. Also, even though both have mentioned that they do not want a post-mortem to be conducted on their bodies, we will get it done as we feel it is necessary."

Neighbours of the deceased said after Prakash Kaur, a retired government school teacher, died about six months ago, both father and son were very sad. "They had stopped interacting much with us all. But we never came to know that they were so sad," added a neighbour.

According to the neighbours, Gurpal was a university topper in M Com. "Gurpal had left two-three government jobs. He was good in studies," said a neighbour.

The neighbours also said that after the demise of his wife, Sant Parkash made efforts to get his son married but in vain. The bodies were sent to Government Medical College and Hospital, Sector 32, for a post-mortem.
