Forwards shine in St Kabir’s win

A fine performance by their forwards propelled hosts St Kabir School to an emphatic 7-0 win over Saupin's School,Mohali in a league match of the Chandigarh State U-13 Football Championship for Kabir trophy being played at St Kabir School,Chandigarh.

A fine performance by their forwards propelled hosts St Kabir School to an emphatic 7-0 win over Saupin’s School,Mohali in a league match of the Chandigarh State U-13 Football Championship for Kabir trophy being played at St Kabir School,Chandigarh. The St Kabir School forwards made some fine attacks and guided the team to win.

The match started on an attacking note as St Kabir School dominated the proceedings. The team was assisted by the fine camaraderie between forwards Uday and Rahul and never gave any chances to Saupin’s School to advance. Uday and Rahul were in fine form as they scored three goals each for the winning team.

In another match of the day,St Stephen’s School,Chandigarh scored an emphatic 8-0 win over Doon International School,Mohali. Three-time champion St Stephen’s School showed some glimpses of past form and dominated the match against Doon International School,Mohali. The team looked on their way into the semi-final stage of the tournament and the way they played on Tuesday confirmed that. Defending champions St John School,Sector 26,continued their fine form in the tournament and scored a 2-0 win over Strawberry World School. Playing like champions,St John School forwards were right into the attacking mode in the match. Krishna scored one goal for the winning goal apart from Robinder,who also scored one goal.

In another match of the day,Little Flower Convent School,Panchkula were held to a 1-1 draw by Stepping Stones School. Both the teams played aggressively but none of them could break the deadlock. St Xavier’s School,Mohali played the second draw of the day as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Mount Carmel School.

Earlier in the day,Saupin’s School,Chandigarh scored a 3-0 win over Delhi Public School. The team played looked in good touch as their forwards made some fine attacks into the opposition half and scored thrice to hand the team a 3-0 win. In another match of the day,Ashiana School scored a 1-0 win over Saupin’s School,Panchkula.

Tender Heart School advance into semi-final

Buoyed by a spirited performance by their cagers,Tender Heart School advanced into the semi-final stage with a 40-14 win over little Flower School,Panchkula in the St Kabir U-14 Basketball Championship being played at St Kabir School on Tuesday. Later in the day,hosts St Kabir School got a walkover from Jawahar Navodya Vidyalaya,Sector 25 and moved into the semi-finals.

Tender Heart School were into dominating mode into the match. Akrit was the main scorer for the team as he scored 16 points while Divjyot scored ten points.

Earlier in the day,hosts St Kabir School sailed into quarter-final stage with an emphatic 42-22 win over Dav Public School,Sector 15. Garv was the top scorer for the winning team. Gur tegh was the other main scorer for the team as he scored 11 points. For the losing team,Arpit scored 11 points.

It was easy march into the quarter-final stage for Tender Heart School as they scored a 44-22 win over St Xavier’s School. In another match of the day,St Stephen School,Togan scored a 36-20 win. For the winning team,Ravneet and Jinawat were the main scorers as they scored 13 points each. For the losing team,Chandan scored eight points. It was also easy going for New public School as they scored a 41-29 win over Little Flower Convent School,Panchkula. For the winning team,Abhishek scored 16 points while Adidev scored 14 points. For the losing team,Mayank scored 15 points.

In the last match of the day,DAV Public School scored a 2012 win over Strawberry World School. For the winning team,Ankush scored 12 points while Arpit scored 10 points. For the losing team,Sahil scored eight points.
