Four persons,allegedly involved in a series of robberies in the city,were arrested by police in the national capital and Rs 31.92 lakh recovered from them.
Manoj (42),Mukesh Shammi (42),Sumit Joshi (26) and Rajinder (35) were caught recently in Harayana’s Sonepat and Delhi’s Bapa Nagar,police said on Wednesday.
“The gang is known as ‘Chottu-Lambu Gang’ and are involved in a series of robberies in banks,petrol pumps and shops,extortion and murder in west and north-west Delhi. They have previously been arrested and convicted.
“In the jail they remained in touch with each other and after coming out on parole,they reorganised the gang and committed this crime,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) H G S Dhaliwal said.
The gang was allegedly involved in robbing valuables from a Saket residence on July 13 after entering the house on the pretect of delivering an invitation.
It was Rajinder’s arrest from Sonepat which led to the three other arrests.
Manoj has previously been involved in various armed robberies with his accomplice Santosh.
