Four persons reportedly committed suicide by jumping from various bridges in the city on Saturday. An unidentified man's body was found near the Phool bazaar early morning on Saturday. According to the fire department officials, the victim probably jumped from the Jamaplur bridge. Another unidentified man between 20-25 years of age was also reported to have jumped from the same bridge. His body was recovered in the evening, said the Gaekwad Haveli police.
An 18-year old girl's body was found near the river bank near Shapur and according to Naranpura police, the girl jumped from the Gandhi bridge early morning on Saturday. In the fourth case, a senior citizen's body was recovered on the river bank near Victoria Gardens. The victim, Laxman (65) is suspected to have committed suicide by jumping from the Ellis bridge, according to rescue officials.
