Four minors held in two murder cases

  • Pune police have arrested four minor boys in two murder cases. The Dattawadi police have held two minor boys aged around 16 years in connection with the murder of a 25-year-old driver Vikas More, a resident of Laxmi Nagar, Parvati, who was found dead near his house on Friday.

    Police had earlier arrested Congress corporator Anil Jadhav and his aide Kapil Bafna (26) from Parvati in conection with the case. While Jadhav and Bafna were remanded in police custody till November 10 on Friday, the two minors were sent to a remand home.

    “We recovered sharp weapons from the boys. Being juveniles, they were sent to a remand home as per court order,” said assistant police inspector Brahamanand Naikwadi.

    In another case, Sahkarnagar police have held two minor boys from Dhankawdi for allegedly murdering an autorickshaw driver Ganesh Mali (29) of Thergaon in the wee hours of Saturday. Mali’s sister Kavita Nale Shankar Maharaj Vasahat in Dhankawdi has lodged a police complaint in this case.

    Police said that Mali often visited Nale’s house. Mali had allegedly molested the sister of the minor boy, staying near Nale’s house.

    The boy and his friend, attacked Mali with a sharp weapon near the public toilet in Shankar Maharaj Vasahat around 1.30 am.

    The boys severely assaulted Mali on the head and chest, causing his death. Senior police inspector B G Bhosale is investigating the case.
