Four persons arrested under Prohibition Act for carrying foreign liquor

In two separate incidents,the Ahmedabad Detection of Crime Branch and the Ellisbridge Police arrested four persons for allegedly carrying foreign-made liquor illegally in their private vehicles on Saturday.

In two separate incidents,the Ahmedabad Detection of Crime Branch (DCB) and the Ellisbridge Police arrested four persons for allegedly carrying foreign-made liquor illegally in their private vehicles on Saturday.

The DCB arrested one Upendra alias Teeno Mehta (33),a resident of from Amraiwadi with 383 bottles of various brands of foreign-made liquor worth Rs 1.23 lakh. Teeno was driving his car towards Khokhra to deliver the stock when he was nabbed by the DCB officials near Geeta Gouri Cinema on Naroda Highway. According to DCB,Teeno’s car had a fake registration number.

In another incident,the Ellisbridge Police arrested Anila Keshwani,a resident of Ghodsar and Maninagar residents Ganesh Segde and Umesh Shukla with 216 bottles of the foreign-made liquor.

According to the Ellisbridge Police,the accused carrying liquor bottles in a Toyota Corolla car (GJ 18 AA 1853) were arrested behind the NID campus in Paldi area.

The accused have been booked under the Prohibition Act and further investigations are on.
