  • The Fransa Pax football team is no more, or that is what chairman Mickky Pacheco would have the All India Football Federation (AIFF) and anybody who would care to listen, to believe.

“Our offices will remain closed from tomorrow and the players will be paid wages till today,” he told The Indian Express from Goa.

Pacheco’s reaction comes in the wake of the AIFF Appeals Committee’s decision today to declare Air India the winners of their match against Fransa in Goa on February 23. The committee also decided that Air India will be awarded three points and so there will be no replay of that match. The AIFF was responding to Air India’s letter of protest dated February 24.

The Fransa chairman also declared that he had decided to disband the age-group teams and in effect the club itself. But, he declared that the AIFF had gone back on its word.

Player plea: Fransa captain Cressan Antao will lead a player delegation to the Fransa House Thursday and request chairman Mickky Pacheco to reconsider his decision. “I guess the players will be the worst-affected from the pull-out. So, a thought should be spared for the players,” said Cressan.
