Another producer has lodged a formal petition seeking action against the once all-powerful senior executive of Sun Group.

Hansraj Saxena,the chief operating officer (COO) of Sun Pictures now remanded in Puzhal prison and a close aide of group chairman Kalanidhi Maran,is now charged with extorting a part of the amount paid to Nemichand Jhabak for securing the rights of a film he produced.

According to the complaint filed by the promoters of Nemichand Jhabak Productions,the distribution rights for their latest venture,Mappillai,was bought by Sun Pictures last year for Rs 17 crore. The film did not fare well in the box office. The complaint filed with a city police station states that the company forced the producers to pay back Rs 3.37 crore.
