Mathura MP and Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) national general secretary Jayant Chaudhary is not satisfied with the performance of his friend Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and his government in UP. Chaudhary today said that the Akhilesh government could not be given 100 out of 100 marks as it has failed to control law and order and redress the problem of the farmers in the state.

RLD sources said that Akhilesh and Jayant are friends since the former was a Lok Sabha member.

Talking to mediapersons today, Chaudhary said the Akhilsh government has failed to meet the expectations of people who had voted Samajwadi Party to power.

He said that the SP government has failed to improve law and order situation in the state in its first eight months. "Despite making an announcement in Meerut, the government has yet to declare price of sugar cane. Crushing has yet to start in a number of sugar mills," Chaudhary said.

Few days back, SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav and Union Steel Minister Beni Prasad Verma both had given "100 per cent'' marks to the Akhilesh government.

Chaudhary said that development works have not started in UP. He said the SP government has failed because there are multiple power centres in it, though he denied to take names of these power centres.

Jaynat said that the government was doing politics over development projects like airports. "The UP government is not responding to Civil Aviation Ministry's proposal of development of airports in six districts in the state," he said. These districts include Jhansi, Meerut, Agra, Allahabad, Moradabad and Faizabad.

Jayant was in Lucknow on Saturday to launch the membership drive of the party.

He asked the party workers to not get involved in transfers, posting of officers and getting arms licences. He asked the workers to take out Jan Chetna rallies against the state government on the issues of power, fertilizers and other public problems. He directed to collect e-mail IDs and mobile numbers of the new members joining the party during the membership drive.
