On any given day, the mood of Puneeta Ranjan's canvas is happy
If only life were a canvas, who wouldn't want to paint a happy picture. For Puneeta Ranjan, the wish comes true every time she picks up her magic wand -- her paintbrush. "I enjoy painting joyful paintings and I hope that people look at them and feel the same," she says adding that the joy factor is coincidental, Puneeta never plans her work. At Art Folio Sector 9, she brings 23 of her works through 'Joy of Life' in acrylic and oil.
One finds a strong sense of composition and balance in Ranjan's work. With woman as her muse, Ranjan paints different forms, ideas and portraits that suggest freedom and beauty. She paints her daughter Shraddha, dressed in baby pink, standing against a garden wall. The cherubic smile and innocence is captivating. The same theme sees three more portraits, a crooked-toothed girl holding a yellow flower, another wide-eyed girl looks on as light pierces through the dark room, while a sporty little tomboy balances a football on her head as one would hold a water bucket!
Letting imagination play on the frame, Ranjan sketches musical notes on a sky against which a girl swings. A figure dressed in white surrendering itself in the wind is aptly called, 'Take my breath away.' Portraying what Rajasthan offers best Ranjan paints the traditional colourful attire clad women and a girl dancing to a musician's tune. Ranjan creates a signature style with silhouettes and occasional impressionism.
