Kunal

When Kunal Kapoor and Huma Qureshi, the lead pair of Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana, were rehearsing for the dance sequence, Kikli kalerdi it was casting director Mukesh Chhabra who choreographed the song. Shot in the chilly winters in a small Lanto village near Ludhiana, Kikli is a lohri song sung to celebrate the end of winter in Punjab, and it was extremely essential to bring in the festive mood in the song. "I didn't want the song to look a choreographed piece, as people just dance to the beat of the dholaks during lohri, but at the same time I also wanted some sort of synchronisation. I planned their placements including their smallest moves," says Chhabra.

While the team rehearsed for a couple of days, the song was shot in a single stretch. He adds, "We started shooting from 4:30 in the evening till five in the morning. By the end of it, no one had any energy left in them, but they all had great fun. Kunal was very excited and even added a few steps of his own because being a Punjabi himself, he was totally involved in his character."

A comedy revolving around a secret food recipe, Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana releases on November 2.

Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola

Language barriers

Imran Khan who plays a Haryanvi boy in Vishal Bhardwaj's Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola had a tough time getting the Haryanvi accent right. That's when the director gave him strict instructions that during the shooting of the film he should not speak in any language other than Haryanvi. And sure enough the actor who is also known as a perfectionist did exactly that. He refused to speak to anyone in any language other than Haryanvi, and that included wife Avantika, his driver, servants at home, his co-star Anushka Sharma and Bhardwaj himself!
