Senior advocate Goolam E Vahanvati was on Monday appointed as the new Attorney General,the country's top law officer. Vahanvati,who was the Solicitor General during the previous UPA government,has been appointed to the post for a period of three years,official sources said. Vahanvati's elevation was expected as he was the frontrunner for the post.
