Jarbom Gamlin,50,who was power minister under Dorjee Khandu,was sworn in as the new Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh Thursday night.
Gamlin,a history and law graduate,is the sixth Chief Minister of the state which shares 1,080 km of its border with China.
My first priority is to carry forward the dream projects of our former chief minister Dorjee Khandu…. road connectivity to every village,healthcare for all,and putting every child in school, Gamlin told The Indian Express after taking charge.
He said he would order a high-level probe into the helicopter crash that killed Khandu and four others.
Gamlin was a Lok Sabha MP from 1999 to 2004. He was later elected consecutively twice to the Assembly from Liromoba.
He was appointed home minister in the Gegong Apang ministry in 2004,but was dropped a year later.
