Two more rape cases were reported from Haryana's Jhajjar and Sirsa districts in the last 24 hours. While a 20-year-old woman was allegedly gangraped by two youth at Bahadurgarh town in Jhajjar late on Sunday night, a minor — who was allegedly kidnapped in Sirsa's Dhingtania village and gangraped — has been rescued.

In the first incident, the victim was walking in a park adjacent to her house at Sector 6 in Bahadurgarh, when two youth forcibly pulled her inside their car and took her to a secluded spot where she was allegedly gangraped. The woman lodged a complaint with the police on late Sunday night.

She was medically examined at the Jhajjar civil hospital, which confirmed sexual assault. Later, a case was registered and the accused — Anil of Barahi village and his accomplice Subhash of Bullaheri village — were arrested. Both were produced in court on Monday, which sent them to police custody. "Both accused have been arrested and are being questioned. A case on charges of gangrape have been registered," Bahadurgarh DSP Rajeev Deswal said.

Meanwhile, in Sirsa, a minor was allegedly kidnapped in Dhingtania and raped by a 22-year-old man, Sukhchain. While probing a kidnapping complaint lodged by the girl's father on December 15, the police recovered the victim and arrested Sukhchain from Faridabad on Sunday. After medically examining the girl, charges of rape were added against Sukhchain. The accused's friend, Balwant, who allegedly helped him kidnap the girl, was also arrested.

Sadar police station Station House Officer Jagdish Joshi said: "Though the girl claims she went with the accused on her own, but she is a minor and thus, we got her medically examined. The girl, who was produced before the magistrate, had she refused to go with her parents. Thus, she was sent to her maternal uncle."
