Promising teenage golfer Gauri Monga will represent India at the Finnair Masters Ladies European Tour to be played at Helsinki Golf Club from August 28 to 30.
The 16-year-old Delhi golfer Gauri was recommended by the Indian Golf Union (IGU) to the Finnish airline for the tourney on the basis of her recent performances that include winning the amateur title at the women’s Indian Open.
“I’m very happy that I’ve been invited to play at such a prestigious event which will help me gain experience for the future,” Gauri said on being told of her selection.
Talented young amateurs from China, Korea and Japan will also be seen in action in the three-day tournament Now in its fifth year, the Finnair Masters is one of the most prestigious golfing event held in Finland.
Over 120 top women golfers from around the world will be competing for the total purse of 200,000 euros.
