Geetika case: NBW against key accused

MDLR sought entry pass for Geetika a year after she quit Kanda's MDLR Airlines

A non-bailable arrest warrant has been issued by a city court against one of main witnesses-cum-accused in the Geetika Sharma suicide case, HR executive Chanshiv Roop Singh, after the police failed to track him.

The Delhi Police have also informed the Interpol as Singh is believed to have to the US after promising the police to become an approver and give evidence against main accused former Haryana Home Minister Gopal Goyal Kanda. The NBW was executed by the court on February 1.

The probe has revealed that Singh was hired by accused Kanda and Aruna Chadha to harass Geetika, who had resigned from Kanda's MDLR Airlines and joined the Emirates. Singh in his confession revealed that Kanda had asked him prepare forged papers to ensure that the Emirates were forced to remove Geetika from the company.

Documents available with The Indian Express reveal that a retired Colonel, who was then Chief Security Officer of MDLR, had written to the Commissioner of Security (Civil Aviation) seeking a nod for airport entry passes for Geetika and other MDLR employees.

The letter, was sent on April 7, 2011, more than a year after she had quit MDLR. Also, Geetika was inducted back into the company and made the Director in 2012, a year after the letter was sent to the Civil Aviation Ministry.

In the letter, Geetika is shown to be a Director of the Commercial department. Her name features on the list just below the Head of the MDLR airlines.

The letter addressed to the Commissioner of Security, Bureau of Civil Aviation, reads," ...The flight operations of MDLR airlines were suspended in October 2009 and as per regulation we can revive the flight operations within a period of two years from the date of suspension... we have three aircraft parked at IGI airport. It is necessary that the aircraft at IGI are made servicable and for that concerned personnel of the airline are required to take care of maintainance and operation of the aircraft at the airport."
