  • Webster is of the opinion that the Laras and Tendulkars of the world should be left alone. “I think when you have the geniuses like Laras, Tendulkars, Chappells and Sobers, they know deep down when it is time to go. And I don’t think you should question them. Question it, and you make them go before they want to go. Lara, you may remember, had some problems and everyone was calling for him to retire. Even Sir Everton Weekes said that it was time for him to retire. But you saw what he did. He went to Sri Lanka and played some brilliant innings. Lara is a person who, if you say something to, will motivate him to come back and show that he is still a great player. But I think it is personal, because these guys have a lot of pride and they know when the time is right and they usually go at the correct time.”
