Goa Education Minister Atanasio Monserratte’s son, Rohit, who allegedly raped a German minor girl, is likely to surrender before the state police on Tuesday. Police sources confirmed that the minister had agreed to hand over his 21-year-old son to the police.

The German’s mother had accused Rohit along with Public Works Department Minister Churchill Alemao’s nephew Warren of raping her 14-year-old daughter.

Police had initially launched a massive search for Rohit in the second week of October but backed out after the girl refused to depose or get herself medically examined. However, the case attained momentum only after the girl on November 1, deposed before Judicial Magistrate first class and also allowed medical examination to be conducted.
