  • The lawyer has demanded that senior lady police officer should be made in charge of the case.

Rodrigues talking to the media from his hospital bed on Wednesday afternoon, however, demanded that the police should be allowed to inquire impartially into the entire episode.

"There should be no political interference," he said.

The lawyer also stated that Goa Chief minister Digamber Kamath had called him up to inquire about the health and assured him saying that ‘law will take its own course.’

Such hypocritesBy: As Indian as you are buddy | 18-Oct-2008 Reply | Forward Ahh of course...there has to be some ignorant idiot who doesnt realise that rape takes place EVERYWHERE in India and everywhere in the world not just India. Open your eyes ..did u not read abt the rape cases in Bombay...in Delhi..n god knows how many more all over the country? The point is to fix this particular problem..not prove your ignorance. What Indian culture are you trying to defend? The Indian culture that allows for women to be wilfully and justifiably oppressed by men? The Indian culture where a girl can be wearing the baggiest jeans and a plain old top and yet be leched at my disgusting men and it is accepted? All those things are crimes against women to...so much for the culture eh!Goa isn't a cancer to the culture. If nothing else it lends a more open minded, honest side to our otherwise hypocritical Indian society. It's creepy non-goans like you who come in and make Goa even creepier. If you don't like it..stay away..at least the beaches will be cleaner for lack of you!
German rape case:By: F.S.K. Barar | 16-Oct-2008 Reply | Forward Whatever formalities the Goa police is observing in the "German Rape Case" are just an eyewash. The absconding son of Goa Education minister will ultimately be declared a good an ethical person, however stringent the the "Goa Children's Act" may be. The Act is meant for the common man and not the heavy weights, the so called "royalty". Education Minister Atanasio Monseratte should relax as the administration is on his side. Only precaution the Hon'ble Minister should take is that his son should remain underground till the case and its memory is erased from human memory. Then the father and son would be labelled as respectable and moral citizens of India.
RapeBy: ubjayanthi | 16-Oct-2008 Reply | Forward How come this happened. Only Hindus are supposed to be rapists. Now christians also. I think pope will give special sermon on this.
German rapeBy: D.A.ESWAR | 15-Oct-2008 Reply | Forward The secularists and christians are silent for rape of a German girl in Goa as rapist is son of their own community and in Orissa they are forcing Centre to impose President Rule by dismissing State Govt? Oh What a pity ! India is going directionless!
You're a pityBy: An Indian- religion aside | 18-Oct-2008 Reply | Forward The only pitiful thing here is how heartless a person you seem to be..using suffering to justify suffering? Have you been privy to all talks within Christian communities and people to know if they're fighting for justice in this case or not? You're taking a crime like this and trying to generate communal tension. No better than the people who are responsible for the brutalities in Orissa it would seem.Lots of Hindu and Muslim men commit rapes everyday..most are never dealt with by an hindu/muslim communities. So when they're being treated unfairly, should we all point fingers at them and say What a pity! They're keeping quiet abt the bad side and yet fighting for their rights?
