Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle is organising summer camps in different areas with the help of various gurdwara committees for personality development of the students.
During these camps,there discussion regarding the traditions of Sikh history,about Shri Guru Granth Sahib and the all-round personality development of the students is held. Besides,the students are imparted knowledge regarding art,harmonium,about tabla and how to wear turban.
About 200 students are participating at the summer camp at Gurdwara Shri Guru Singh Sabha,which started on June 1 and will continue till June 21. The camp is being held under the supervision of Gurcharan Singh,Prabhjot Singh and Arvinder Kaur.
Ravinder Singh of BRS Nagar said that two summer camps were underway at Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha,E-Block and Gurdwara J-block of BRS Nagar in which about 350 students are participating. In these camps,students are given knowledge about Gurmat.
In the New Model Town gurdwara,the summer camp started on June 5 in which Dr Balwinder Pal Singh,Joginder Singh shared their views with the students. In the camp at the gurdwara in Haibowal near Jassian road,around 100 students are participating.
The camp is being run under the supervision of Satinder Kaur and Gurdev Singh. The students are imparted training regarding Gurmat and Gatka (a martial art). At Daad village also,a summer camp is in process where the students are being trained about the Sikh history. Harjit Singh,Zonal President of Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle,said that these camps were successful and there was a great enthusiasm among the students and their parents.
