  • Artist Paresh Maity’s return to Mumbai couldn’t have been grander than the ongoing exhibition Montage Moments Memories at Jehangir Art Gallery. The solo show, which opened on Tuesday evening, compensated for his four-year absence from the city’s art circuit with giant sculptures and paintings occupying the entire gallery. Minister of State for Civil Aviation Praful Patel inaugurated the show that showcases photographs and video art by the Delhi-based artist for the first time. Art lovers turned up in large numbers to view the latest work of the 44-year-old artist who is focusing on public art this time: Laxman Shrestha, Brinda Miller, Lalitha Lajmi, Devika Bhojwani, Sunil Padwal and Samir Mondal. Jayasri Burman, Maity’s wife and a renowned artist, had reasons to rejoice as she mingled with Prerna Goel, Sabira Merchant, Nawaz Modi Singhania, Kahini Arte Merchant and Arti and Kailash Surendranath.

Showstopper Maity impressed with the sheer size and range of his work.
