Army Chief General V K Singh on Thursday refrained from commenting on the current debate on the removal of Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) from certain parts of Jammu and Kashmir but said that the armed forces have given their inputs on the matter.
This is within the purview of the Ministry of Home Affairs. They are debating this and we have given our inputs. I would not like to say anything more, Singh said. The Army Chief was speaking to reporters at the sidelines of the Infantry Day celebration in the capital.
The Army Chief also refrained from commenting on the alleged remarks of National Conference leader Mustafa Kamal blaming the Army for the recent attacks in Srinagar.
Whosoever has given that comment,I think that does not deserve the courtesy of any remark from me, General Singh said.
