Investigators believe that the Sanatan Sanstha men who were killed while allegedly planting bombs in Goa during Diwali celebrations last month were hoping to fan communal tensions by misleading the police through items they wanted to leave behind at the site: a shopping bag from a shop in ‘Khan Market’, Delhi, a bottle of traditional perfume popular among Muslims and an empty bag of branded Basmati rice on which all the words were in Urdu.

The items were recovered by police from the site of the crude bomb blast in Margao on October 16 in which two Sanatan members, Malgounda Patil and Yogesh Naik, were killed. It was found after investigations and the subsequent arrest of two men suspected to be linked to Patil and Naik that they were allegedly carrying these items to leave them behind at the blast site and signal a Muslim hand.

“The material was enough to spark communal trouble in Margao and extremist elements from outside would have found it easy to aggravate it,” said an officer who spoke on the condition of anonymity.

Margao, Goa’s main commercial city, is represented by Chief Minister Digambar Kamat in the state Assembly and has a large Muslim population. Kamat, incidentally, was near the site of the blast, taking part in the Diwali celebrations but was not hurt.

The alleged plan to indicate the bomb blast to be the handiwork of Muslim groups had echoes of the Malegaon bomb blast last year, the officer said. Members of Hindu extremist group Abhinav Bharat, who have been accused for that blast, had parked the motorbike packed with the bomb below the defunct first-floor office of the outlawed Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI).

Goa Bombers tried to leave Musim imprintsBy: Vasoo Kamulkar | 29-Jan-2010 Reply | Forward Read again please what Manuel E Tavares has to say. "Goans of all three religions Hundu, Christian and Muslim have lived in harmony in Goa without these religious tensions which are now being imported from India into our tolerant and harmonious Goa." BEWARE: Manuel is GOAN and NOT Indian. Yet he has the blooming cheek to say that Christians are in harmony with Hindus. I am a Maharashtrian- son of Goan dust and have no hesitation in saying that what Manuel says is a load of rubbish. Goa has no separate culture.Only 18% of Goans are Christians and 2 % Muslims. Rest is Maharashtrian HINDU culture. With Nehru's blessings, financial support from the Vatican and co-operation from the European "Plants%u201D and Indian Christian community,GOA has been hijacked away from Maharashtra. Ask any Goan Christian in the UK about his origin. Without blinking for a moment, he says, "GOAN". Where on earth, pray; is the nation called Goa? Ask Leicester MP Keith Vaz. They are ashamed to be Indians.
TREACHERY By: Manuel E. Tavares | 10-Nov-2009 Reply | Forward Iam convinced that the intention of the bombers was to incite Hindu Muslim riots just as they had in other parts of India. This would have been a tragedy had the bombs detonated and Muslims would have been blamed for it. It is heartening to note that the plot was discovered prior to this happening otherwise we would have a disaster on our hands. Goans of all three religions Hundu, Christian and Muslim have lived in harmony in Goa without these reilgious tensions which are now being imported from India into our tolerant and harmonious Goa. We should resist such incursions into our culture and keep vigilant so that we are never caught in the cross fire of religious intoleranse. Remember that these bombs would have killed persons of all three faiths who happened to be innocently pursuing their business in the proximity of these bombs. Let us be vigilant and report any such illegal activities to the authorities so that swift action can be taken to diffuse and neutralize such situations.
PR for policeBy: Malavika Patil | 09-Nov-2009 Reply | Forward Alleged is used so many times in this article. What ever happened to basic fact checking? Since when is police account taken as gospel? Doesn't the author know that so called 'Hindutva Terror' of Malegoan case is falling apart?
Appeasement ...By: Manoj | 08-Nov-2009 Reply | Forward Media can try its best to make terrorism look religion independent. Even if its true, we know where the epidemic is. And that's terrorism in the name of Islam and silently backed by its followers, if not openly.
MANOJ like RSS stooges are killing Hindus tooBy: Jago Indians | 08-Nov-2009 Reply | Forward Had the bombs been planted it would have killed muslims and Hindus too. As every one knows RSS is behind the blasts in Hyderabad, Parbhani, Nanded, Malegaun, Mumbai, Delhi and Margaun. So fas the RSS cadre in the police were implicating innocent muslims for all these blasts, but now that they are being exposed, its upporters are giving foolish reasoning. It is high tine that all opne minded and progressive Hindus and Muslims sit together and initiate a movement to educate masses about the eveil designs of RSS and its affiliates. So far they were killing muslims now they have started killing Hindus too, which is a very dangerous trend. If someone still supports RSS he must be insane or the Terrorist himself.
