Manupal Godara scored all six goals for Army on day two of the Indian Open polo on Thursday, but it didn’t prove to be enough for a win, as Jindal/Elevation won the event’s second match 10-6.
The game stayed even till the second chukker, with both teams being locked at 1-1. But the action picked up in the third chukker, with Godara scoring three. But Jindal/Elevation stayed close after converting a penalty in their favour, and two more goals knocked in for them by Shamsheer Ali saw the scoreline read 4-3.
Jindal/Elevation took the lead for the first time in the match in the fourth chukker, edging ahead 6-5, largely due to the excellent play of Italy’s Miguel Saragia. The final chukker saw Jindal/Elevation consolidating their win and Bhawani Kalvi was the man who did the damage, scoring three consecutive goals. Godara scored from another penalty for Army, but Saragia sealed a 10-6 win for Jindal/Elevation.
