  • You bring me good news. To tell you the truth, I was not even aware that there was a pending matter in the Supreme Court,” Ottavio Quattrocchi told The Indian Express hours after the government told Supreme Court it was withdrawing the Bofors case against him.

Speaking over phone from Milan, Quattrocchi said: “After the removal of the Red Corner Notice, I have been travelling all over the world for business and have forgotten that anything remains in India. For me, it ended with my victory in the Argentina court (2007) and it does not bother me any more.”

“I am no longer troubled with the case. Now that you tell me the highest court has been informed about the file being closed, it is a happy development. The announcement should have come long ago.”

So does he plan to visit and pursue business interests in India? “I would love to visit India since my family and I have spent some of the best years of our lives in the country. But no visit is planned in the near future though many of my Indian friends visit me in Milan. I am very busy these days with my real estate business.”
