Jharkhand Governor M O H Farook is learnt to have recently summoned Chief Secretary A K Singh to express his disapproval of the Shibu Soren governments move to effect a large-scale bureaucratic reshuffle at a time when the BJP-JMM ties were in a flux in the state. The Chief Secretary,following the meeting with the Governor,despatched a letter to the CMs Office,asking it not to undertake transfers,postings and appointments until it was an administrative necessity. When The Indian Express contacted Singh for his reaction on the issue,he refused to comment. Even as the BJP and the JMM are yet to reach an agreement to form a government led by a leader of the former as Chief Minister,the state government has approved the transfers and postings of several officials,including 12 Superintendents of Police (SP),six Deputy Commissioners,24 Deputy SPs,10 Deputy Development Commissioners and eight Sub-Divisional Officers. Soren had also recommended the appointment of former Chief Secretary A K Basu,who was allegedly involved in a case of corruption at the Damodar Valley Corporation,as Chief Information Commissioner. Meanwhile,Jharkhand Vikas Morcha president and former chief minister Babulal Marandi on Thursday met the Governor and sought an immediate dismissal of the Soren government for its alleged failure to abide by the constitutional propriety. BJP decision on Jharkhand today CHANDIGARH: The BJP on Thursday said it would take a final call on the stalemate over government formation in Jharkhand after a meeting of senior party leaders and observers in Delhi on Friday. I had only a brief meeting with the party observers in Delhi yesterday as I was flying to Chandigarh.
