The Authority will identify targeted groups that are the intended beneficiaries of the various flagship programmes of the government. These include the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyaan, National Rural Health Mission and Bharat Nirman. Will work only Government bodies work with passionBy: Suresh Kumar | 26-Jun-2009 Reply | Forward These kind of initiatives like calling a expertise to work for government is suitable only in Developed Countries like US .These kind of things will never happen in the third world countries like India.Even without bringing Mr.Nilekani to this project ,they can make very successful by choosing a good company for development and deployment. The Chairperson will be thrown away within seconds when next party take the government. In Infy they work with passion and schedules will government bodies will work like that. They say what is the gain for us to work in this, that is the mind setup of third world country like India.
how long will he last?By: mahesh | 26-Jun-2009 Reply | Forward It remains to be seen how long Nilekani will last, govt. bureaucracy might exhaust his patience and his skills in a govt. setting might prove to be worthless. But I hope he will be successful encouraging more people to take up govt. projects making the govt. more efficient. The article states that ids will be issued to 120 billion citizens, which will probably be indias population is in what another thousand years(I know it must have been a million, but what a mistake).
