The Government of Germany has selected Chandigarh and Mohali for the implementation of the Economic Development project, through e-governance.
The pilot project, jointly promoted by German Technical Corporation (GTC) and Directorate of Standardisation, Testing and Quality Certification of the Union Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, has already been successfully implemented in Rajkot and Bangalore.
Technical advisor to GTC, Ritobaan Roy, introduced the e-governance project and its objectives before signing
the MoU with Mohali Industries Association (MIA) president B S Anand in Mohali on Thursday.
He said the project aimed to promote a new bilateral technical cooperation initiative and support the introduction of high quality e-governance and e-business services in the Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SME) sector.
MIA will be the project partner with GTC for the Mohali and Chandigarh engineering cluster, where NGO Cluster Pulse has been hired as the agency for implementation of the project.
Cluster Pulse will connect independent software vendors, business development service and information and communication technology providers to SMEs to address their business concerns in the fields of production, finance, marketing and human resources.
