Children go to school in Lalgarh as normalcy returns.

The Maoists went on the rampage targeting ruling CPI(M) cadres and offices and virtually took control of a large area after driving away the police and paramilitary forces. The security forces began a crackdown on June 18. The operation is nearing completion with security personnel recapturing most of the Maoists-held areas.

CPM’s Major lapse on addressing, the citizens at largeBy: Sankar | 02-Jul-2009 Reply | Forward How is the leftist govt. that works for the people (more than any other party), let such discontent on the ground. No extremist group is born just by itself. There has to be deep discontent and/or external motivation . For any group of people to be at war with a elected govt., at a cost of family and peace, as with the Naxalites at Lalgarh points to, major neglect on the part of CPM in engaging the citizen and addressing their grievances. Forces cannot solve the problem, CPM needs to address the genuine needs of people!Ms Banerjee can be accused of playing politics, but CPM has failed in basic administration.
