In order to woo the industrialist, Industry Minister Partha Chatterjee on Tuesday said for the first time around 210 stalls will be set up at the industrial fair — Bengal Leads, scheduled to be held in Haldia from January 15.
The two-day investor meet will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
This year, the fair will showcase Haldia as the prime industrial destination, Chatterjee added. However he refused to divulge which big corporate houses have shown eagerness to invest in Bengal.
According to him, around 1,500 delegates from all over the world will be participating in the fair. Political circles claim the decision has been influenced by the government's desperation to project investor-friendly image post ABG's exit form Haldia.
