UP Legislative Council Chairman Ganesh Shankar Pandey on Friday directed the state government to table the inquiry report of the committee probing the incidents of violence and arson which took place in Noida during the bandh on Wednesday.

The government had formed a two-member committee, comprising Home Secretary Rakesh and ADG (Law and Order) Arun Kumar, to probe the incidents and submit a report in three days.

The chairman issued the directives when BSP members sought adjournment of the House to discuss the Noida incidents. They alleged that the state government was aware of the strike called by trade unions but made no preparations to prevent violence.

On behalf of the government, Basic Education Minister Ram Govind Chaudhary said several FIRs had been lodged and people arrested for the violence. He said the state government was prepared for the strike "but there was no apprehension of such violence in the strike called by trade unions. Such incidents had never happened during their strikes in the past," minister said.

Chaudhary said the situation was now under control . "The government will take further action in the matter according to the findings of the report," Chaudhary said.

The chairman rejected the adjournment motion and directed the government to table the inquiry report and take action according to the report.
