The State Election Commission has declared elections for 21 gram panchayats in the city on June 24. All the gram panchayats are in Haveli and Mulshi taluk and one in Shirur taluk. The villages include Ambegaon Khurd, Ambegaon Budruk, Kirkitwadi, Lohegaon, Nanded, Dhairi, Khadakwasla, Kondwa, Dhawade, New Kopre, Narhe, Pissoli, Uttamnagar, Keshavnagar, Sadesatranali, Mhalunge, Balewadi, Sus and Tandali. All these villages will complete the term between July and September this year. The elections will take place before the completion of the term so that a new body is elected. Filing of the applications will take place between June 5-9, while candidate verification will take place on June 11, withdrawal by June 13 and voting on June 24, with the results being announced on June 25.
