M Y Chikale, project in-charge of Solid Waste Management cell of BMC said: “There is no question of the land coming under CRZ-I because the MOEF gave us permission for the sanitary landfilling site.”

Chikale said so far they had the permission to construct a landfill site on 60 hectares. “If we don’t get permission to cut mangroves on the 20 hectare, we will simply develop 60 hectares.”
