A new greenbelt will be developed in Sector 42 and Rs 15.50 lakh has been earmarked for it. The decision was taken in the Roads Committee meeting of the Municipal Corporation held under the chairpersonship of councillor Anju Beniwala on Friday.
The committee also recommended laying of paver blocks around parks in Sector 40-A, B and C, a rehabilitation colony in Sector 52, near grain market, Sectors 61, 23, 24, 20, 22, 35, 36, 46 and 32 as well as on road berm of link road to Mauli Jagran.
It was decided that the paid parking lots in Sectors 16, 22, 35 and 42 would be upgraded and Rs 42 lakh has been sanctioned for the purpose.
Cement concrete footpath and toe wall will be constructed in the extension of green belt in Sector 20 at a cost of Rs 11.85 lakh.
Another toe wall will be constructed and railing will be fixed at Dussehra Ground in Manimajra. The V-6 road in Sector 22 would be widened.
The committee members also approved the renovation of a community centre in Sector 20. A jogging track would be built in floral park, Sector 15 and Rs 12.45 lakh has been earmarked for the purpose.
An additional parking lot would be constructed on vacant land behind the service road in Sector 26 at cost of Rs 20.78 lakh.
