Leader of Opposition in Gujarat Assembly Shaktisinh Gohil said there could be no comparison between Rahul Gandhi and state Chief Minister Narendra Modi.
"Modi replaced Keshubhai Patel to become the chief minister in 2001, while Gandhi refuses to be a member of the Union Cabinet despite invitation from the Prime Minister Manmohan singh. Gandhi refuses to become a minister saying he wants to work for the party," the Congress leader said.
Comparing Modi with 'Raavan', a character in epic 'Ramayan', Gohil added that only those close to Raavan could own palaces made of gold.
"Similarly, industrialists like Adani have become owner of palatial buildings during the Modi-rule in Gujarat. But there is not an increase of even a penny in the pension amount of widows in the state and large number of poor people have became homeless due to Sabarmati river front project in Ahmedabad," he alleged.
Gohil challenged Modi to contest an election against him from Bhavnagar city.
Gohil demanded a white paper on the allocations of gas, grants and aids from the Centre during the BJP NDA rule at the Centre from 1998 to 2004.
