Harsimran,Jashandeep establish new meet records

Scorers were kept busy throughout as swimmers created three new meet records on the second day of the Panjab University Inter-College Swimming (Men and Women) Championship at the PU Campus Swimming Pool on Wednesday. Out of those three,Harsimran Kaur managed to create two,while the other one was Jashandeep Singh.

Maintaining her authority right from the beginning,Harsimran,who had claimed four gold medals on Tuesday,was at her elemental best as she swam to glory in another four categories-50 metre breaststroke,200 metre breaststroke,200 metre butterfly and 800 metre freestyle. She created her first record of the day when she clocked 41.92 seconds in 50 metre breaststroke. Then she once again shone her prowess by clocking 11:34.81 seconds in 800 metre freestyle to create another record.

Meanwhile,Jashandeep has till now won combined six gold medals. He recorded 2:29.31 seconds to set a new record in 200 metre breaststroke to win gold in the men’s category. He had also set a new meet record on Tuesday in 100 metre freestyle event.
